Occlusion has been considered an important risk factor for the temporo- mandibular disorders (TMD). To check the pertinent literature in a systematic way and proceed to a critical analysis to elucidate the relation of the occlusal factors with temporomandibular disorders and to establish a consensus to standardize and define behaviors in clinical practice as well as select effective/safety treatments for the patient.
